I got a pair of Nudie @ 75% discount (Go nobody wears 29 waist but me!) from a local shop and it's been hard to find another pair of jeans I actually want to buy since.

If they weren't normally 400$ apiece I would never buy anything but Nudies - They are such awesome jeans and totally become personalized/unique to you as you wear them (like any good quality jean should)

In the past I bought my jeans mostly in a mediocre quality jeans store (Wrangler brand, about 50-60 EUR a piece) but today I just couldn't find a good fitting jeans there. So I went to this higher quality jeans store and tried on a pair of G-Star (75 EUR). They fitted very well and sure made me feel great in them, so I bought em. That will be my main pair of jeans for the upcoming X-mas holiday season events.

Now this is just a temporary pair of jeans though, I'm on a steady weight-loss period so inevidentally in a couple of months from now those pants will probably be too big.

Sorry for the slight thread necromancy, but I need some expert advice. While at a concert in Chicago the other day, I realized I don't have a pair of jeans that both looks good and feels good. So now I want to find a good pair of jeans with a clean but modern look. So minimal fading, no destruction, preferably boot cut and slim fit (works with my body type best), darker wash, hopefully less than $100. Anybody have any suggestions?

Avoid designer jeans. Hit up the Levi's selection at Macy's. Try on EVERYTHING until you find a pair that fits you. Just grab a huge pile of jeans from all over the department, bring it to the changing room, and try them on one by one until you get the "oh!" feeling.

I'll add my 2 cents just because for the 1st time ever in my life I dropped the big hundo ($100) on a pair of designer jean and I don't think I can ever go back to Levi's.

Not to knock Andrey or anyone else ! I'm the type to NEVER pay $100 for f-ing jeans...

I've noticed they make my legs look longer and body in better proportion. Plus the style is clean and makes me look more put together and mature.

I've got a pair of Calvin Kline's that I got at Ross, I like them more than my over $100 pair of lucky's that I had trimmed.

For the slim guys. Bootcut are best because they hide the skinny legs. I wear Levi signature from target for day to day. I've taken many compliments from women saying "those look comfortable."

Going out I like AG Edwards Fillmore or Diesels. Go big or go home.

I used to think it was ridiculous to buy jeans that were more than $40, then I decided to try some designer pairs and ended up with some rock & republics ($200) after trying on at least 20 different pairs with help from one of my girl friends. I am now hooked and I get a little spike of happiness every time I wear them. The fit, fabric, look, wash, everything... is awesome! I think I would have a really hard time going back to my levi's now.

One tip I learned in the process was that I was wearing jeans 1 to 2 sizes too big. I used to wear 33" waist and after trying so many on we decided that I really needed 31" to get the proper fit.

I recently took out all my jeans and tried them on, then rated them on a scale of 1 - 10. I had 17 pairs, but after doing this, I threw 2 pair out (cuz I rated them about a 5).

Anyways, the highest rating I gave was about an 8.5 to a pair of my Silver Grayson jeans, which I usually buy at the Buckle.

The 2nd best pair I had were BKE Jaxon.

Even with that said, i'll probably be going out in a week or so seeking a pair that I would rate a "10". Fortunately, I live near some nice stores that sell these upper echelon jeans. If I find something good, i'll let ya know.

I've gotta problem along the same lines. I'm a big guy. Been losing weight so that helps, but I'm still built stocky, blocky like. I've always bought jeans with comfort in the forefront. The problem is I need to get relaxed cut to fit nicely through the thighs (muscular not fat) but they leave me baggy in the crotch and ass. I'm on a budget so some of the high end stuff is out. So any ideas out there for off the shelf or am I screwed into just buying baggy and getting tailored?
