Whoa... Whole lot of haterade flowing in here... sounds like the porn industry has triggered some strong emotions in a few of our members.

As for what value it might bring, I personally am actually curious as to what effect being a porn star has on sex... to remove the emotional connection element of sex (at least during professional work) has to have a profound effect on the person doing it, and exploring her feelings about the issue would definitely be useful in coming to grips with the nature of connection in sex. Which would be useful information for us. So if it were me, that would be reason enough to do the interview, and the gold would probably come in the form of discovering the value that I *hadn't* expected.

I worked in the industry for a year in front of the camera and now I work behind it as a product designer and sometimes camera man.

Couple points that stick out to me in this conversation:
- It seems like a lot of you have pretty strong opinions about something you clearly know nothing about.
If you don't know, then ask questions. Don't pretend to have an insight.

- Being in front of porn does not, in any way mean you're "stupid". It means you trade sex, for money. If that's not beating the system I dont know what is.

- The question of the difference between prostitution and porn is pure semantics. There are some technical differences, but nothing that addresses the real question of a practical division.

- The idea that a person has to separate their emotions from the sex act during an on-screen encounter is plainly wrong. First of all, people that can turn it on and off like that probably already do so whether or not the camera is rolling. I know I can turn off romantic inclinations when I want to. Im sure most of you can too. Here's the real deal on a porn set: You show up, you make friends with everyone on set. You meet a pretty girl and you fuck her. The end. Sounds like a successful night of sarging to me.
I became friends with most of the girls that I worked with and I (almost) always had a good time during the scene.

Lastly, nothing personal against her but Sasha Grey is famous because she allowed herself to be set up and embarrassed on a tabloid tv show. Anyone that reads or sees her interview knows she's nothing special relative to the other intelligent young girls in the industry.

In my opinion, it would be a challenge to get a relevant podcast interview out of her, or probably any pornstar for that matter.

I'd personally say her being famous most likely has to do with the fact that she will allow, and does allow, almost anyone and anything into her anus. Check out her catalog.

I can't say I've ever met, nor have I ever seen an "intelligent" porn star. I've seen some grow into excellent business women/men, but that isn't necessarily indicative of intelligence. I'm not saying they do not exist, just in my personal experience I have yet to find one. Now, I'm also not saying they are morons either (although the industry has it's fair share).

I can't say that I see the value in this specific girl in question. I would much rather see an interview with Traci Lords or Jenna Jameson (Although JJ lost huge points for dating Tito Ortiz).
